Since I blogged about last summer, I guess it makes sense to say a little bit more about this summer. There was no way I was going to be able to afford summer rent because my internship is unpaid, so I’m doing what any reasonable college student would do. I’m mooching off friends who hooked me up with their relatives. Lisa’s relatives were gracious enough to open up their home to me. It also came with a couple pretty adorable roommates. They’re not children or kitties.

This is Bailey, one of two golden retrievers at the house. I know the picture is dark, but I didn’t want to disturb her TV watching. She is a fan of Animal Plant and especially Meerkat Manor. She apparently became slightly neurotic and began watching more television after her second litter of puppies.

This is Buddy, Bailey’s son. I’m not sure from which litter. He is called Monster by some members of the family after the enery drink. The name Buddy really does suit him better though. He has an odd bump on the top of his head.
I prefer cats to dogs, but these two are pretty well-behaved. When they’re wet, they do smell a little bit like raw hamburger, but they also hardly bark. A big difference from the dogs I’m used to. Buddy and Bailey are in fact much quieter than the neighborhood children, something I appreciate.
I’ve actually become quite fond of small children again, at least as long as I have somebody to hand them off to when they start crying or need a new diaper. Still, I’m glad it’s the pets that are permanent in the house and the children that only visit. The dogs require significantly less attention to be happy and stay alive.

This is the first blog I have visited as I am old, demented, lacking technological skills, ie computer, and I am codgerly at age 55.
I am the Moochie that is enjoying helping out a college student. You have an awesome relationship with your dad and that is why you are proud to talk about him, I wish I was as close to some of my kids as you are with your dad…..
If you like my dogs you will soon like the grandkids that are all arriving later in July. The household energy level will have more output than the sun.
